HUNTER BREEDING CLASSES

GENERAL

A. Men should wear a suit or coat and trousers, collar and tie. It is strongly recommended that protective headgear should be worn.

B. Women may wear a coat, skirt or trousers with a collar and tie. It is strongly recommended that protective headgear should be worn.

C. No ear rings or visible jewellery should be worn.

HORSES

A. Manes should be plaited. There is no need to plait foals.

B. Tails pulled or laced. Foals may be laced or natural.

C. Heels trimmed. There is no need to trim foals heels.

D. Led Hunters should be in plain leather head collars or bridles. Two and Three year olds must have bits. Yearlings may have bits but foals should just have leather headcollars. Yearling colts must have bits.

E. Any exhibitor in charge of an entire must ensure they are in complete control at all times and if not will be dismissed from the ring.

F. Judges will take this into consideration when making their awards.

RIDDEN SPORT HORSE

RIDER

A. A skull cap or hat and safety harness according to the current approved BSI or European Standard must be worn by ALL competitors.

B. Riders must wear an appropriate jacket with a shirt and tie.

C. Plain fawn or buff coloured breeches.

D. Plain black or brown boots.

E. Any form of leather or string glove.

F. No ear rings or visible jewellery should be worn.

HORSES

A. No tack may be worn which in any way conceals an animal’s conformation except for boots of a plain colour which may be worn during both the ridden and jumping phase. No rugs, clothing or items of tack that reveals the identity of a horse or owner may be worn in the ring.

B. Manes should be plaited and tails pulled or laced.

C. Plain leather bridles must be worn.

D. Snaffle bridles must be worn as per rules for British Eventing dressage for four and five year olds.

E. In six, seven and eight year old classes, snaffle bridles are not compulsory.

IN-HAND SPORT HORSE

HANDLER

A. Men should wear a suit or coat and trousers, collar and tie. It is strongly recommended that protective headgear should be worn.

B. Women may wear a coat, skirt or trousers with a collar and tie. It is strongly recommended that protective headgear should be worn.

C. No ear rings or visible jewellery should be worn.

HORSES

A. Manes should be plaited, tails pulled or laced.

B. Yearlings, two and three year olds must be shown in plain leather snaffle bridles.
